Heavy Blend Crewneck
Legend has it that the Little Devil carried a curse that caused all sorts of misery in the lives of those who used it. In 1977, Friedman Fishing hired the legendary Haitian lure designer, Stecher Corneille to become its lead designer. All went well with the new hire until Christmas of that year when Al Friedman (a notorious cheapskate) handed out plastic staplers as a Christmas bonus. Corneille was insulted and an argument ensued, escalating to the point of physical contact when Friedman put 9 staples into Corneille head. That evening, Corneille snuck back into the factory and spent the night designing the Little Devil after which he placed the design into the production folder and disappeared forever into the Louisiana night. Unbeknownst to Friedman, the lure was put into production and released in 1978. It ran for 3 years until the number of complaints about snagged ears, fingers, eyes, noses and other, unmentionable extremities reached the thousands. Although rare, it is not considered a collectable lure.
